International Students Visit
Duan Ink Stone Village
Nov.
5-The International Exchange College arranged for nine
international students from US, Japan, Korea and Nepal to visit
the Duan Ink Stone Village. Many of the students said they were
not only excited to see with their own eyes the marvelous
Chinese art treasures but also felt proud of Zhaoqing`s cultural
history.
Brush, ink, paper and ink stone were the four treasures in
ancient Chinese studies. The Duan Ink Stone is known as the
finest ink stone in China. The Duan Ink Stone has been
designated as the ink stone of the emperors since the Tang
Dynasty (618-907) and has been well known all over China since
the Song Dynasty (960-1279). The Duan Ink Stone got its name
because it was mined and made in ancient Duanzhou (Zhaoqing).
