On Sep 11, book donation was held at the Foreign Languages School. Japanese Guests Hideo Nakajima and Noriko Uchida from Sōka Gakkai donated books authorized by Daisaku Ikeda to Daisaku Ikeda Institute. Prof. Yuan Qinlin, Director of the Institute, Dean of Foreign Languages thanked the support from Sōka Gakkai, he then briefed the history and development of the Institute, and hoped this opportunity could strength contacts between the two.
Ms. Uchida expressed as the follower of Daisaku Ikeda, the society adhered Mr. Ikeda’s philosophy of peace, culture and education and is committed to Japan – China peace and world peace.
Daisaku Ikeda is a Buddhist philosopher, educator, author, and anti-nuclear activist. Chinese media describe Ikeda as an early proponent of normalizing diplomatic relations between China and Japan in the 1970s. It was said that Zhou Enlai entrusted Ikeda with ensuring that "Sino-Japanese friendship would continue for generations to come.
